  • Kansas Song?

Long lonely motorcycle rides can be creative moments if we allow them... I use my "notes" app on my iPhone like it's my little black book! All those million dollar ideas that have while riding will get entered into my notes or texted to my bff! 😂 Sometimes I look back through my notes & wonder what the hell was I thinking. Very similar to a banker looking at my bank account & wondering what kind of life is this lady living - you never know when you need a blue wig, megaphone & dog allergy pills. But hey here I am! Different situation calls for different purchases. Anyways; back to my little black book... do you all remember my Kansas song that was featured in our YouTube video: https://youtu.be/FE5jlM5KxKc Let me share with you the lyrics & if you haven't heard me sing then you see missing the fu¢k out! Oh Kansas oh Kansas Oh Kansas oh Kansas Your so flat & boring I might as well be dressed in black & mourning Oh Kansas oh Kansas Your so flat & boring The animals here are wack & the birds aren’t even soaring Oh Kansas oh Kansas Your so flat & boring Wanna punch you in the sac because there’s no water even roaring Now when you read the lyrics & before you are blown away on why this isn't a one-hit-wonder keep in mind that we were riding 11,000 miles including both coast lines of the US & both Mexico & Canada borders as well as the long boring state of Kansas! Enjoy my friends! ~ the squaw

  • Best Touring Motorcycle

Riding over 100K miles on a Harley-Davidson Road Glide; I definitely have my own opinion of the "mile eating" machine. Here are the points that I want to make as for WHY the Harley-Davidson Road Glide is the best touring motorcycle: The biggest difference and one difference that a lot of people can’t get over is the fixed fairing and there lies what makes this the right tool for the job. Traveling across the country; the fixed fairing will cut and help you manage the wind, also giving you the stable ability while helping with your riding endurance & improve your riding skills. The Road Glide also has a lower seat height, with added room between you and the handle bars. Which for me; really plays out well in the comfort and handling of the ride. The Road Glide is the heavier of the motorcycles, which in my opinion helps with the ability to cut the wind, holds better and handles better in the corners. Let me add this... all of these miles were have rode 2UP with my wife! 2UP simply means that there are 2 riders on the motorcycle. We ride "Hard Fast & Heavy" If you are looking for the ultimate American touring motorcycle, I believe the Road Glide should be at the top of your list! We are currently on our 3rd HD Road Glide but have ridden & spent time on different brands & models of motorcycles. 2015 Harley-Davidson Road Glide (Twin Cam) 2019 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special (M8) 2022 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited (M8)

  • didn't invent the chopper but LOCKED IT IN OUR MINDS!

Riding back from Milwaukee for Harley-Davidson 120th anniversary homecoming; I took a detour in my route to stop by a place that will soon be part of our motorcycle history. The National Motorcycle Museum already holds so much history of the motorcycle culture that it is a shame that the doors will be permanently closed come September making the museum history as well. Some may say that the most iconic & famous motorcycles known are these two bikes: Captain America and the Billy Bike! Easy Rider (1969) is familiar and important to many who ride motorcycles... it holds great meanings, references and the birth of freedom, "wind in your knees", "FTW" mentality. There is an image of Fonda riding the open road that is seared into our memory! During the late 60s the chopper scene already had a roar & the film just popularized the scene! The "chopper" image - panhead motor, springer forks, stretched frontend, rigid hard tail, high handlebars, peanut tank of course with the American Flag, fat rear, sissy bar and even a stepped seat. Having the opportunity to see this Captain America tribute bike & a Billy Bike replica, plus Easy Rider movie posters were one of the highlights of visiting the National Motorcycle Museum!! ** Interesting fact: The Captain America motorcycle that survived Easy Rider was auctioned off for 1.35 million being billed as The One & Only Authentic Captain America Motorcycle & making it the most expensive motorcycle in the world! Although some will argue that it isn't authentic being that it was rebuilt & probably isn't in the exact condition as it was during the filming of Easy Rider. To make everything more cloudy & confusing... there are rumors that 1 of the original Captain America motorcycles was & wasn't stolen.... hmmmmm! If you can get away for the day or make a weekend trip to Anamosa, Iowa... stop at the museum! You will not be disappointed! Like I mentioned... they are closing the doors September 5th, 2023! • Two of America’s best pastimes: Motorcycles and Baseball

One was born in 1931 and the other was born in 2007. In the northeast corner of Oklahoma you will find two of the greatest American pastimes. “The Commerce Comet” or you may know him by “The Mick” aka Mickey Mantle was one of the best baseball players and sluggers of all baseball history. Spavinaw, Oklahoma is the birthplace of Mickey Mantle and the old school bike rally known as “Copperhead Run Rally.” Spavinaw is considered as the Foothills of the Ozarks and you are guaranteed to have a good time! For any motorcycle lover, there is nothing like the roar of your engine, the rush of the open road, the twisty corners between the mountains and opening up the throttle as you cross over the rivers. The Ozarks bring out the passion and pride that fellow riders have; Copperhead Run Rally does just that with all the different rides they offer. Surrounding attractions that are a must to visit and ride include Copperhead Road which is 69 winding curves throughout the Spavinaw Hills; Ketchum Cut-off is an island hopper with bar and grill stops all around the Grand Lake; Topsy Turnpike will take you across the well known Pensacola Dam on into Disney Oklahoma; Wildlife Management is a trip filled with scenic views, Eucha Dam and Kenwood Hills; and then of course the Spavinaw State Park which is small but mighty and a must see visit! The rally itself has bike games, adult games, tattoo contest, panty contest, poker runs, a burnout pit, live music and tons of vendors. You can find the fun starting around the beginning of June which is held as a 3 day event (rain or shine)…. oh and the party has a 21+ age restriction requirement. This was our first time attending the rally and we were not sure what to expect. If you have ever rode through Oklahoma you will know that the state features flat to rolling hills of prairie grasses to some forested scenery. Living in the heart of the Ozarks (Northwest Arkansas) we knew we would love the terrain as we weren’t too far from home. This is literally the foothills of the Ozarks and makes a beautiful ride anytime during the year. As soon as we rolled into the rally campgrounds we could instantly tell this was going to be a fun weekend. The staff was friendly, super knowledgeable and you could tell they were happy to be there. The rally campgrounds are right off of highway OK-20 and extremely easy to access. They offer free camping with your ticket/weekend pass with flat grounds which makes camping so much nicer and offers lots of shade! We were both amazed at the different demographics of riders and MC’s plus everyone was happy and getting along. The schedule for the event was filled with events, games, and entertainment. Every hour had new happenings whether it was on the main stage, the burn out bar or inside with karaoke. Plus the beer was cheap! The menus even offered medical dispensary services. Subscribe to our YouTube channel youtube.com/theorneryone to watch our full video on the Copperhead Run Rally event! Also, you can follow along and/or be part of our journey with Facebook and Instagram: The Ornery One

  • Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Color Matched Inner Fairing and this guy!

This guy right here.... his name is Paul. He started with the vision to help the appearance of his motorcycle flow & be different than everyone else.... which turned into what he does today! There was something missing in the stream line of the motorcycles he was riding... that was the inner fairing. The inner fairings were black... no options; just black. Paul wanted to change that & so he did! The Fairing Xchange! The fairing is what YOU look at while on your motorcycle.. so why not make it appealing & the color you wanted in your motorcycle when you bought it?? The Fairing Xchange takes your OEM parts & paints them with a color matched Harley Davidson paint. The entire inner fairing sections include: Upper Vent Main part of the Fairing Glove department doors 3 pieces around the triple tree You can find Paul with The Fairing Xchange online but also at all the major motorcycle rallies including the road between them! Yeah.. on the road! They will stop along a route to make it happen for you! It is the best upgrade for your dollar in less than a hour! Oh before I forget... Paul also does installs of Custom Dynamics, Dakota Digital Gauges & Hogtunes Audio! While we were building The Big Boar (22' Road Glide Limitied) we had Paul install the Wild Boar Audio - Whole Hog RG kit.... with 400 watt amps! 3 x 400.2R, 400 Watt amps 2 x WBC 1654 RG Front Fairing Speakers 2 x WBC 1654 Rear Speakers 1 WBA LC LWR ADA Lower Speaker Adaptors Kit includes Black Trim & Chrome Trim For Front Speaker Grills Mounting Plates and all required Plug and Play wiring

  • Custom Dynamics: What Product Have You Tried & Tested?

Product & Company Review: A company that makes products that help you SEE & BE SEEN as well as a company who believes in the value of SEE & BE SEEN! We have worked hand and hand with Custom Dynamics for multiple years now... to be exact it was 2018. The fall of 2018 we installed the ProBeam Bullet LED Turn Signals along with their Magic Strobes on our 2015 Harley-Davidson Road Glide. The entire process was exactly like we had been told: Plug and Play. (Now.. I am posting the video but please keep in mind that our editing skills have improved as we were completely new to the moto-vlogging world... aka be nice) Just fast forward to our current motorcycle; 2019 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special which we got April of 2019. As of January 2022 as I am writing this, we are sitting at 45,300 miles. All of those miles have been with Custom Dynamics. Products that we have installed on our motorcycle but have used & put them to the test! One thing you will find with us is that we will do product reviews but it might take a few months before we share our ideas & feelings about the product. Isn't that what product reviews are actually about? Reviewing the product doesn't mean giving a review within days. How do you know if it holds up? How do you know if you will like it? How do you know what will happen when you put it through all 4 season? How do you know??? More on that later.... maybe a whole blog about Product Reviews need to be REVIEWED. Alright, back to our badass lights! • Two expectations for 2023

NEW YEAR MEANS NEW ADVENTURES AND NEW CHANGES! New year means new adventures & new changes which allows us to experience new & exciting things but for you too! There are a few changes that we wanted to make in order for us to be more available to the motorcycle community & to you: our friends of the road! We changed our weekly LIVEstream from Friday nights to Tuesday nights for a few reasons. First reason is the wifi while on the road or at rallies/events... wifi is spotty even with a second hotspot that we carry with us. Second reason is that everyone is so busy on Friday nights including us! These two reasons alone were enough to make the change & everything felt right to name it the "new & improved" LIVEstream: TWR - Talk It Walk It Ride It.... :) We are going to be hosting more guided rides in our great state of Arkansas!! If you are planning a motorcycle trip to Arkansas for the first time or returning to Arkansas then please let us know! We would love to show you a few roads or share some recommendations with you! We will still be attending some of the major rallies... no doubt but we will be doing more within Arkansas & showcasing the rides that we have to offer along with some damn good food! We appreciate all of our friends that have been there from day 1 & all of the new friends that we have met along this journey! Here is to 2023 Riding Season... let make it a strong one! We will see you out on the road! #stayornery

  • Are you in LOVE?

In LOVE with your motorcycle? Of course we are but here are 10 signs that prove that you LOVE LOVE LOVE your motorcycle! (TJ wanted to make sure everyone knew this was shared by Stephanie! lol not sure why but just FYI) 1. You spend a lot of time with your motorcycle. You wake up at dawn for a ride then come back in the afternoon and spend a few more hours washing, drying, and polishing your bike. 2. You have to ride it every day. The only reason you like going to work is because you can ride your motorcycle. If you don't get to ride it for a few days, you get cranky ... a symptom of PMS - Parked Motorcycle Syndrome. 3. You love the way your motorcycle looks. When you get off your bike, you look back just to admire it. Your motorcycle is not only sexy, it even makes you look good. 4. You get anxious even if there is a little problem in your motorcycle. This speaks for itself. 5. You enjoy showing off your motorcycle. You've spent many years and dollars making your bike just as you like it. You talk about it whenever possible. You rev your motorcycle while inside a tunnel just so you can hear it sing. 6. You are always thinking of ways you want to make your motorcycle better. You've changed the exhausts the day you got your bike. By now, you've probably changed the seat and handlebars, added saddlebags and lights. You're still not satisfied. You need the latest accessories on the market. 7. You are over possessive about your bike. You hate parking in public areas. You're worried that people might touch it or even sit on it. When you come back you thoroughly inspect it. 8. You can't imagine life without it. Your motorcycle is a part of your daily living. When you leave town, you just can't wait to get home so you can ride your motorcycle. 9. Your motorcycle has a name, gender, and birthday. You have saved the invoice and treat it as a birth certificate. On this birthday, you buy motorcycle stuff for yourself. You might forget your spouse's birthday, but you'll never forget your motorcycles birthday. 10. You share a lot of memories with your motorcycle. You share a special bond and there are a lot of sweet memories of your rides. All your stories begin with "When I was riding to ... ". This was shared by Pig Trail HOG member & Secretary: Sheila "Casper" Branham who shared it within our HOG newsletters. She had found the article online & most wording was taken directly from the article... these are her highlights.
